A bachelor’s degree in supervision and management provides students with the foundational skills needed to advance their careers in upper-level management and supervisory leadership positions within their chosen organizations. Polk State’s online Supervision and Management degree program is designed for individuals with an associate’s degree or equivalent, and allows them to build upon their existing degree by completing upper-division coursework in management and leadership practices to attain their BAS in Supervision and Management.
The Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Supervision and Management’s Four Areas of Concentration
Business Administration
The Business Administration concentration provides students with the opportunity to develop a theoretical and practical understanding of organizational management and the operations of a business enterprise. Students explore the areas of accounting, strategic planning and decision-making, finance, business law, management, and marketing.
Business Information Technology
The Business Information Technology concentration prepares students to analyze business issues and data challenges, and then apply decision-support and business-intelligence solutions for improving work processes for better business decision making. The program allows students to analyze problems using logic and analysis tools, translate instruction sets into a computer language, and build and maintain business-intelligence information systems.
Healthcare Administration
The Healthcare Administration concentration prepares students to enter the workforce as medical/health services managers. Their work as managers involves a complex array of factors impacting today’s healthcare environment: technology, regulations, accreditation, innovation in treatment and delivery, system finance, and insurance reimbursement.
Human Resources
Public Administration
The Public Administration concentration provides students with the opportunity to develop a theoretical and practical understanding of how public resources are utilized effectively within a changing environment. Areas of emphasis include foundations of public administration, public relations, public policies and regulations, human resources and labor relations, and public finance.
